Recovery begins
with reading the numbers again.

Han Jun Kim, attorney at Pyungan Law Firm in Seoul. Three years at Samil PwC (Korean affiliate of PricewaterhouseCoopers) before law school, dual-qualified as a Korean attorney and U.S. CPA. I read a corporate rehabilitation or bankruptcy filing as the construction of a small set of financial statements — and re-interpret those statements through the lens of insolvency law.

Where I practice

Insolvency sits at the core, with five adjacent areas pulled into it — tax disputes that drive the filing, court-supervised M&A, cross-border claims, and the financial-institution regulation that surrounds them.

Signature Case · 2024–2025

CNH Capital Rehabilitation
Korea's first credit finance company rehab

Lead company-side counsel. Filed December 2024 with the Seoul Rehabilitation Court; commencement order issued January 2025. A Stalking Horse sale ran in parallel, with Pinetree Asset Management — an NPL and alternative investment specialist — designated as the preferred bidder. The case laid practical groundwork for future financial-institution rehabilitations in Korea.
